M/S Ahti cruise lasts about three hours during which we get a rich and diverse view of the southern parts of Lake Kemijärvi. We get to see where the first inhabitants arrived, sacred ceremonial placed of the Lappish tribes, local Finnish cabins and even the world’s shortest river!
During the cruise there’s a live commentary by the ship’s captain (in Finnish), but there’s also material in English and rest of our staff speaks fluent English and are happy to help so that you will get the most out of your trip.
During the cruise you can purchase coffee, local fresh pastries, sweets and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You can also purchase locally designed arctic circle
The boat departs from the shore near the ABC gas station (Uitonniementie).
Tickets are bought from the boat. We accept cash and credit cards (also Electron).
SCHEDULE SUMMER 2013
M/S Ahti departs from the Kemijärvi city harbor tentatively on Sundays and Thursdays at 2pm. The summer cruises start on Midsummer Day after which they continue weekly til mid-August.
We have many theme cruises throughout the year (midnight sun cruises, midsummer night cruises, cruises to the local villages…). Information on these will be posted here during the summer!
We arrange customized cruises on the lake according to your preferences for larger groups. We can provide anything from small snacks and drinks to a three course meals..
